AARON Warwick scored twice as the Grapes celebrated a commanding 3-0 win over Elephant Llanidloes.
Jamie Smart marked his return to action by completing the tally, and rally the Newtown side's title bid.
The Grapes were aided by the Llanidloes Town Colts collapse in a 2-2 draw at home to improving Elephant Wanderers.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development and Triangle Communications will hold an event at 2 p.m. today in the cooperative's office at 2121 Highway 2 N.W. in recognition of the 60th Anniversary of the USDA's telecommunications loan program.
Rural Development recently approved its 25th loan to Triangle Communications in the amount of $47 million.
These funds will be used to provide new broadband connections to rural Montana residents within Triangle's service area.

A GRIMSBY Town favourite, a former Marine and an ex-Paratrooper, are just three of the men taking part in a 130-mile bike ride in aid of Help For Heroes.
On Saturday, former Mariners left-back Gary Croft, 35, Marine Wayne Sanderson, 33, and Paratrooper Matthew Jones, 33, will be cycling from Whitehaven to Sunderland.
They hope to complete the coast-to-coast challenge in just one day.
